At Robinson’s Place Atrium, General Santos City, thirty companies with principal business operation in General Santos participated in a bloodletting activity.
Thirty of the most prominent companies in different fields and processes converge together in a bloodletting activity sponsored and initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region XII. The said companies are members of the DOLE Family Welfare Committees – General Santos City Team or simply, companies with existing and operational family welfare committees intended to address the needs of their employees and their families. Among the companies who joined the activity are the member companies of the Citra Mina Group of Companies (CMGC) that sent nine (9) candidate blood donors to the activity, unfortunately, one of the candidates did not pass the screening procedures. The Citraminians who donated blood on the said activity are the following: Usaraga, Cherry Faye; Buhisan, Fe Mary Gold; Montazis, Violy; Divina, Evangeline; Baclas, Jason; Magbanua, Hydie; Aguillon, Carlo May; and Fabronero, Angelo.
The activity was organized in order to replenish the dwindling reserve of blood in blood banks like the National Red Cross. The abrupt drop in the reserve of blood in blood banks is attributable to the high incidence of dengue fever cases in the city and Region XII as a whole during the past few weeks. The participation our organization during the said activity is something that Citraminians should be proud of because it manifests the good nature of our institution and our passion and support for initiatives that promote communal cohesion and charity.
