Trash, garbage, dirt and plastics are everywhere around us and guess what?, These human made monsters will ruin the land, the seas and the whole world if we don’t care to clean and bring back the green.
Our dear company has been an active participant of Coastal Clean-up Drive activities for many years consistently. We give importance to the invitations from government agencies such as the DENR-EMB Region 12 and we take it as part of our social responsibility as a company.
The DENR- Environmental Management Bureau Region 12 initiated a clean-up drive last September 17, 2016, 6:00 in the morning. This was in pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 244, series of 1993, declaring September of every year as National Clean-Up Month and the 17th to 23rd of September of each year as the World clean and Green Week.
Approved by the Top Management, led by the LBED-Manager, Mrs. Emma Ordaneza, twenty-eight (28) volunteers from different divisions of the company were bound for another meaningful Coastal Clean- Up Activity at Purok Wal, Brgy. Bawing, General Santos City. The clean-up took only half a day and we were able to gather 25 sacks of segregated garbages. The group took a few minutes of break then headed to 4ML and had a very simple and happy lunch before collecting trashes on its shore.
It was a tiring activity, yet to be being a part of it, was more than worth it. To see the hidden heavenly beauty of the sea, we should keep it clean for us and the future generation to see.
