Our surroundings today already contain various waste, especially plastics that can pollute the environment. Different kinds of waste, such as nylon, candy wrappers, cellophane, bottles, and styro, affect the cleanliness of our environment here at MGTR Compound.
To address this problem, the Family Welfare Committee headed by Edgardo W. Villanueva Jr. initiated the ‘Oplan Pulot Plastic’’ activity dated July 16, 2022.
The activity started in front of Citra Mina Store, Motorpool area, warehouse down to gate 2. It aims to clear barriers for the GRIEDISHCO’s Fun Run Activity.
The FWC Chairperson encourages every FWC member to participate in this activity to help clean the scattered garbage that makes the surrounding so unclean. Through this simple way, every FWC member believed that we can contribute to cleaning the area and also help the utility personnel of LBED.
The 42 participants participated in the said activity that started at 6:30 am and ended at 7:45 am. The FWC members collected various waste, empty bottled waters, and cellophane left in the area of Mommy Gina Tuna Resources Inc.
Each volunteer strives to separate cartoons and plastics. It was heart-warming to see the determination and teamwork displayed by everyone, despite being tired. At the end of the activity for more than 1.5 hours, each member felt satisfied with the little things as an act of providing clean and green surroundings. It was an eye-opening experience for everyone to be responsible for throwing our garbage in a proper waste can.
