TEMPHIL Families Engage in Coastal Clean-Up Drive

TEMPHIL (TEI, MGTR, Philfresh) employees together with their families joined hand-in-hand in a coastal clean-up drive as part of the company’s commitment to help conserve the marine resources.

The Safety, Health and Environment Committee (SHEC) led by its Committee Chairperson, Edward P. Lacanilao spearheaded the said event on the early morning of March 31, 2019 at 4ML Beach Resort, Maasim, Sarangani Province. The said activity was a collaboration of TEMPHIL’s (4) committees namely: SHEC, FWC, CoDISH and GrC with the theme: “Engaged Employees’ Families Support Build a Solid TEI-MGTRI-PhilFresh (TEMPHIL) Community”.

As early as 6:30 in the morning, 98 volunteers gathered in the shoreline of the Resort for a short briefing and orientation conducted by Engr. Jemark A. Sajulga and Orland T. Villadolid of Land-Based Engineering Division (LBED). Collected garbages were segregated into 3 types: biodegradable, residual and recyclable. A total of 7 sacks of residual wastes, 5 sacks of recyclable wastes and biodegradable wastes were collected.

TEMPHIL group, being in fishing industry, relies its main source of income in marine products, thus, it is dedicated to succeed in the global-wide mission to rescue our oceans, rivers and waterways, and preserve them for the next generations especially the coastal area along Sarangani Bay.

This initiative signifies the commitment of the management through SHEC in supporting the campaign of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for a clean and sustainable marine and wildlife resources.
